Land of Opportunity

Newark has one of the highest homicide rates in the country – Murders almost exclusively committed by (gasp) people who are here legally. But US Rep. Tom Tancredo doesn’t trouble himself with silly statistics when rushing to use the tragic deaths of teenagers to boost his presidential campaign (which is almost entirely based on bashing immigrants) as coincidentally, the most recent atrocity there was allegedly committed by an illegal immigrant.

Using his – I’ll be charitable and call it “reasoning” – That means when a US citizen commits a murder, all US citizens should be rounded up and thrown out too.

I know all of your comics are tilted to the left Matt, but
when 3 kids who are U.S. citizens get killed execution style by Illegal immigrants this is not rhetoric it is reality. Tancredo is a hero in my book. Illegal aliens are
killing U.S. citizens every day. All politicians pull this
crap. I hope you printed the same cartoon when Hillary and
Bill Marched in Selma Alabama to honor the 1960's march.
Tell me that wasn't for high profile.

    No.
Illegal aliens are mowing our lawns and cleaning our houses every day. Meanwhile our "hero" Tom Tancredo is making sure gun laws are lax enough (his other political platform) that murderers can get their hands on their tools of the trade with ease.

I cut my own lawn Matt and yes Illegal aliens are killing
U.S. citizens everyday that is a fact. As far as Tancredo and guns go that will never change. Notice how the Democrats said nothing when the Virginia Tech killer killed
30+ people. You know why? The gun lobby is to strong and they know it. They would just lose votes so kept their traps shut.

Illegal Aliens kill US Citizens every day? I've looked everywhere for that statistic and can't find anything to corroborate that.

Being opposed to illegal immigration isn't a bad thing – I'm opposed to it myself – I just don't like the way some people cloak their provincial and irrational xenophobias with opposition to "illegal" immigration, when what they really are saying is they hate Mexican/Latino immigrants – And perhaps one long-time British immigrant…

That's not the case with me or most people. It just seems
that way because most Illegals are hispanic that's all.
As for Stats on illegals killing Americans go into
immigrationwatchdog.com for the latest on the Illegal
community. They even had a post yesterday on muslims in your
old stomping ground jolly old England. They have a big
    problem there as well.

Europe as a whole has been in immigrative (word?) flux ever since the Berlin wall came down and Eastern Europeans started flowing toward opportunity (oops – There's that term again) in the rich western parts of Europe. "The Polish plumber" is now ubiquitous (and a pejorative term) in the new EU. England has a special problem – as does France – in that they are reaping the rewards of their colonial pasts, and now have vast (mostly legal) underclasses of socially/culturally repressed SE Asian muslims who have learned to romanticize the Al Qaeda Jihadi. That makes our immigration problem look tame, when one considers

When I was a kid, people (even some grownups I knew) used to be mean about Pakistanis in England – And I knew it was wrong, even then. First generation Pakistanis went to the UK to work their butts off, keep their heads down and make money. It's their kids, the second generation that had to go to school and get beat up and called names and have become understandably misanthropic.

That makes our immigration problem seem mild in comparison.
