I've resumed the TV spots after a little summer break. If you look carefully in the first two clips, you can see my leg shaking idiotically and uncontrollably. Which I find very annoying, and will never do, ever again. It's amazing the stupid things you learn when there's a camera on you. My dog.

No cartoon from me today. Here's the reason for my silence:

We called him "Wasnum."

The difficulty that my dear late Grandma had remembering names – coupled with her sing-song Welsh brogue – left her applying a single moniker to her various acquaintances: "Wasnum," or "whatsisname" in English. I thought that would be the perfect name for a pound dog.

Size matters. Hope you like the new format. In the previous blog incarnation, the cartoons were too damn small, and I tried out a click-on feature to make them bigger, but it wasn't entirely satisfactory. The header up top was thrown together in about four minutes and it will probably change. The star rating poll below each cartoon pays you $5 for every vote you register. Kidding, of course.

I was originally planning to draw a "boring" cartoon about the wishy-washy Democrats allowing Bush/Cheney's latest stab at Constitutional erosion to become law…Then I couldn't help but notice the apparent lack of outrage over the whole issue.
