I usually work past the obvious cliches in my sketchbook…But for some reason, this idea forced me to put principle aside and throw out the hackneyed "lost in a maze" cartoon. I think it was the dialogue that added enough of a twist to clear my conscience, which in turn allowed me to go ahead and ink it. It might also have been the fact it was 5:15 PM (and it made me chuckle…)
Garbage is a funny thing. Allow me an anecdotal indulgence for a moment.

I have to confess…It was fun breaking out the Bill Clinton caricature again. I aged him a little, but my editor still busted my chops about the fact he's lost weight since I last drew him. But if I'd drawn him slimmer, the cartoon wouldn't have been quite as effective now, would it?! Editors can be so silly.
Despite my drawing this cartoon (hard to resist drawing this one…),
I'm not actually so sure concentrating on Florida was such a foolish strategy on Giuliani's part. Without a clear front runner at this stage, all the exhausted GOP candidates will start campaigning furiously in Florida trying to eek out some type of advantage, as it turns out the early primaries didn't matter after all.
