    Seriously…

  2. X BULLDOG

How right you are Matt!!!! And then of course nothing changes.

  3. Richard Tjoa

My question is: On April 16, will I have any left in my pocket?

  4. Nieves

People should be forced to take a simple test on the candidates to see where they really stand on the issues. Instead they rely on mountains of gibberish, whether a person looks right to them and a bunch of other nonsense.

This cartoon is a reflection of that…

  5. Eliane

The same happens here in Brazil.
Every election, all the candidates want to sell this idea of changing. Congratulations!

    Ron Paul means it.

  8. james

The people want it so every one says it, same old tricks new elections

  9. Ian

I agree with Anonymous: Ron Paul means it and is the only candidate that can and will actually do something about it

  10. NotTheMama

@Nieves: no one should ever be forced to do anything… it’s called FREEDOM…

And yes, Ron Paul DOES mean it, that’s why his sign isn’t represented :)

  11. s.o.l.

Obama was the ‘Change’ candidate. Polls showed it to be a popular message so Hillary decided she too was an ‘agent of Change’. Ignore those who jumped on the bandwagon and pay attention to the guy driving the bandwagon—Obama 2008!

  12. Anonymous Sigh

You are right, Ron Paul does mean it. Sadly, you need to understand what sincere change means and the difficult decisions that go along with it…something media and the American majority don’t care about.

  13. digger

    you are on digg!!!

  14. RONPAUL FOR PRESIDENT

We all should write in Ron Paul when we vote. The other candidates are bad mouthing each other and Ron. The meadia doesnt show him as a candidate at all. WRITE HIM IN I SAY. Screw all the other candidates that will keep putting this country into debt. Heck this country will be gone and in the control of CHINA if any of the other candidates are voted in. WRITE IN RON PAUL WRITE IN RON PAUL

  15. David Johnson

Unfortunately, the only change that will actually work (if by “work” you mean “make things better for everyone”) would be the complete and total elimination of all government, religion and any other organization of more than 1,000 people, worldwide, now and forever…

...anything less is just fooling yourself.

  16. 0seth0

Ron Paul may mean it. But, do you even know what he wants to change? Or, are all you Ron Paul supporters just hopping on your own bandwagon? Yes he may end the war and get rid of the IRS and Federal Reserve. I agree with those points! But he also wants to get rid of social security, health care all together, the department of education, the UN and just about anything else that the government has anything to do with. I agree that their is a lot of wrong in this country, but its not all wrong. You may think you like Ron Paul now, but I’m sure a lot of his views would come back to haunt you if he was elected president.

  17. whit

    too many opinions

  18. joe kunin

You know, Paul is not the only one who means it! Kucinich anyone?

  19. Kinglink

Ron Paul will change America from the land we are today, to a gravel pit. He’ll do what every accuses bush of doing… And that’s destroy America’s standing in the world. He’ll pull us out of any conflict we’re in (and we have troops stations AROUND the world, not just in Iraq and afghanistan) he’ll kick the UN out, he’ll remove our social security, and health care, and destroy the federal reserve and IRS. So essentially the Government will have no money and do little for it’s people.

Ron’s belief is that it is a federal duty to provide services. Except where the hell is the Federal governments going to get money? Who pays taxes when the IRS is gone. There’s no money to borrow against with out the federal reserve. They’ll attempt to tax, but people won’t report it and who’s to prove them wrong?

So yes, let’s elect Ron Paul, and we get two scenarios.
    A. He does nothing because Congress keeps ignoring the bills he introduces or champions.
    B. He gets his way, and the country goes practically bankrupt in 4 years.

If you think Bush is “destroying” America, watch what happens if Ron Paul gets elected. I’m just glad he has the same chance of getting elected as Steve Forbes and Ross Perot did… None.

  20. KJM

0seth0: “But he also wants to get rid of social security, health care all together, the department of education, the UN and just about anything else that the government has anything to do with.”

Actually, he wants to wean us off of the dependence these unconstitutional programs and agencies create. He will continue to fund social security and medicare/medicaid for those already dependent upon them, while giving future taxpayers the ability to opt out.

The Dept of Education should be scrapped and control of education should be given back to parents and their local school boards. Centralized planning doesn’t work, especially in societies with large differences in ethnic, religious, and political makeup.

The UN has been a worse failure than the League of Nations. For all the resources dumped into it, little positive effect has been achieved.

He is the only candidate I know of who isn’t, for all effects and purposes, a socialist.

  21. Jesse

    @ klinglink

Remove the IRS and put in Fairtax. Come on man, its freaking stupid to keep the IRS and not swap over to a higher spending based tax.

  22. Read up please

    Kinglink,

Ron Paul does not believe it is the governments responsibilities to provide services. He believes the federal government should only do what is within the bounds of the Constitution. He believes free markets without government interference would be more effect. Cutting the income tax would cut government power and give money back in the hands of the individual. Only about 1/3 of govt income comes from the income tax, government would still have plenty of money.
Ron Paul would not immediately end Social Security or healtcare for individuals who get it paid for by the government, but he would start the process to eliminate it. I for one will most likely never see a dime of the social security money that is taken out of my paycheck because the government “borrows” from social security to pay for things that they have no business being involved in. And the medicare and medicaid system costs of $1,000,000,000 a year just to pay for retirees and few others, imagine if we were to cover 300 million people how much of your income would have to go to the government to pay for it.
I suppose if you don’t believe in the individual having the right to make the decision for themselves on what to do with their own money, then vote for another candidate. If you feel it is OK to have a Patriot Act, a loss of Habeas Corpus and widening federal powers, then vote for another candidate. If you feel it is okay to continually increase government spending and borrow more money to fund bad policies and programs then vote for another candidate because they all really want “change” don’t they?

  23. Jesse

It’s only funny because Ron Paul isn’t listed up there. If his name were present then the cartoon wouldn’t make any sense.

  24. JustJJ

WOW what a amazing exchange of ideas on candidates. I have learned more about some of the people running for office here …then all week from the news parade

  25. Ron Paul fan

Ron Paul can truly change the country for the better.

  26. Jay

    Kinglink,

Read the Constitution – you’re right about reducing the Federal government… that’s what ought to be done!

Ron Paul is the only candidate for serious change, which this country desperately needs.

  27. the lost emperor

The biggest factor working against Ron Paul right now is his supporters on every forum I visit overdoing it with the SPAM!

  28. Jason

Take the government back to the hands of the people and the boundaries of the constitution. If people want unconstitutional programs like the department of education, let the people bring it to legislation. That’s all Ron Paul is saying. It’s time to reel big government back in! If we want change, then do it by the book – not through shady activities and LOOP HOLES motivated by kick backs.

    Ron Paul
    Ron Paul
    Ron Paul

  29. Its True

Many of the other candidates have borrowed from the “Change” message, but I think Dr. Paul is the only one who would absolutely follow through.

Although I don’t agree with a few of his viewpoints, he seems to be the only candidate with clear convictions, and his thoughts on Foreign policy and the Fed is enough for me to write him in.

I feel like otherwise, it won’t matter. Democrats, Republicans—These days, whats the difference?

  30. Not Spam

We are just many, and excited by Ron Pauls message! Its not like there is an organized effort to spam

  31. Vladimir B

Change is not a new concept. Every challenger in history of politics since the beginning of voting system has been riding it. It’s not like Obama has all of a sudden created something original this election cycle. But if you listen to him, he would love to give you that impression.
The real copycats are the pseudo conservatives on the Republican side. Ever since Ron Paul became an internet sensation, they have been mentioning the Constitution and personal liberties in all of their speeches.
The worst one is Huckabee who has a record as a very liberal, big government, tax’em type of politician, now he is stealing Ron Paul’s lines that directly contradict his record. Even Ron Paul addressed this in one of his responses during the ABC debate. He said, you have to do the right things as a politician, otherwise you are just paying lip service to the Constitution. It was a subtle jab- I wish he had put more emphasis on this point.

  32. exer51

What I find hilarious is that the left leaner’s who think the government should be everyones nannies don’t understand Ron Paul is the only one who can even deal with what we already have in place.

If any other candidate gets elected social security, and every other program for that matter, will HAVE NO MONEY within another decade… IF WE’RE LUCKY. His paring back of useless programs is the only way we’ll even be able to keep millions of old people off the streets, let alone universal healthcare or any of the other insane stuff.

If those people want a communist utopia in the future, WE STILL need Ron Paul to pull us out of the hole first.

  33. 0seth0

@kjm if you send your kid to public school you are part socialist. If you send letters and postcards anywhere you want for one set fee you are part socialist. If your grandparents pulled social security or you have ever pulled unemployment or disability or recieved a check from the government because you are a single parent then you are part socialist. Socialism, communism, democracy, capitolism and all other economic and government forms can be good or bad. Ron Paul could very well make us into a BAD capitolism. A lot of people that support Ron Paul never consider what they would do if they had to pay to send their children to school. Or what their uncle who works as a garbage man with no benifits is going to do when he gets to old to toss trash bags. Capitolism is more evil than socialism and communism. We just haven’t had a country abuse it to the same levels. Just remember everytime you make a dollar someone less fortunate than you just their last dollar.

  34. anonymous2

Hillary is the candidate who is endorsed by both the George Bush family and the Rothchild family of Europe. What gives?
Ron Paul is probably the only non-billionnaire politician out there, as evidenced by the media moguls trying to cut him off.

  35. Voice of Reason

“So essentially the Government will have no money and do little for it’s people.”

Where does the government get the money in the first place…anyone?, anyone? From the people.

RP is saying that the people should keep their money to take care of themselves and not send it to Washington in hopes of getting SOME back. Besides, there are many more taxes than the personal income tax.

RP does NOT want to eliminate Medicare/SS in the short term. He realizes that you can’t cut people off who have become depentent on it. I’ll probably never see a penny of it as it will likely be insolvent by the time I retire (and I’ve been paying in for 20+ years!!!).

You should really watch an interview or two before jumping to conclusions. The one with Jay Leno on Jan 7, 2008 is an excellent start (YouTube).

There are a number of issues I do not agree on with RP, but from what I’ve seen, he is probably the most intelligent and thoughful of the GOP candiates.

  36. nanosecond

Kucinich offers more than Paul and with less downside.

  37. james

Its funny how Ron Paul isnt being represented in the fox news debates cause he makes the other republicans look bad.

  38. queation

How come so many sites have Ron Paul supporters. Yet he barely gets any votes in the the past 3 primary states races?

  39. lolzor

There is nothing wrong with a social security system. The idea that everyone should be able to pay for health care is ridiculous. Everyone can’t afford it. Then you have the haves and the have nots. Then you’ve got class division and thats when things start to get ugly. People should have a base lifestyle maintained by the gov’t (thats why u pay taxes) where everyone is looked after. Then after that your free to achieve what you want. The government is there to protect the people from others who want to rip them off. (ie corporations). If you think that what we need right now is more freedoms for corporations then you are not living in the same world as me. I think dubya is fine as president. Its the people that have bought him that scare me.

Stop knocking socialism. Your just an ill educated fool. There has been a massive propoganda campaign that goes hand in hand to link socialism and communism. They are not the same. And, there are plenty of countries that are quite happily socialist or psuedo-socialist (australia?).

Listen to yourself. You say “Ignore those who jumped on the bandwagon and pay attention to the guy driving the bandwagon—Obama 2008!”. Do you see what I mean? Obama-Bandwagon. And what sort of ride is he going to steer us in on this “Bandwagon”? Look at his voting record, it’s available at http://obama.senate.gov look at what he actually stands for and how he voted on it.

Now go to http://www.house.gov/paul and look at what he stands for and how he votes on it.

See a difference? Obama SAYS he going to change things so why hasn’t he ever VOTED to change things?

Don’t take my word for it. Go and check it out for yourself.

  41. Ron Paul ...

is an anarchist. Really. He may be serious about change, but it’s not the sort of change any sane person should want. Just look at Zimbabwe to see what that sort of single mindedness produces.

  42. Spore

    I love it!

  43. EJ

People like Kinglink need to understand history, economics and philosophy at least a little before they attempt to critique Ron Paul or ever open their damn mouths for that matter. Unfortunately the department of education does not teach us about two of those 3 topics and the other has pretty much been completely re-written. They also need to actually listen to what Ron Paul says before mouthing off.

Ron Paul wants to attack America’s problems at the source, the very sources that our founding fathers were attacking when we declared independence from State Banking (the federal reserve) invasive unconstitutional taxation (IRS) global military Imperialism (NATO, UN) loss of U.S. sovereignity (NAFTA, WTO) foreign interventionist disasters (Korea, Vietnam, Iran, Iraq) and personal liberty and accountability.

So by all means, if you want to continue paying foreign aide to Palestine so they can continue to fight in Israel, and you want to continue giving Isreal weapons and money to keep fighting Palestine, THEN USE YOUR OWN TAX DOLLARS AND BLOOD, NOT MINE. If you want to keep watching the Pentagon report Trillions of dollars unaccounted for, THEN USE YOUR OWN TAX DOLLARS, NOT MINE. If you want to keep listening to jingoist nonsense in public school, destroy your own kids minds, not mine.

  44. Voice of Reason

Nothing is wrong with Social Security, if it is properly maintained and funded. There are many good systems in Europe.

Perhaps a 60-minutes interview with the Comptroller General of the United States will shed some light on the current state of affairs wrt Social Security. Scary!

  45. EJ

I see that this debate is shaping into Socialism vs. Capitalism. Let’s address that.

Socialism strives to give power and money to government at the expense of it’s citizens so that government can address the problems of the citizenry. I am NOT confused in any way with Communism by the way. Socialism uses government force such as taxes, police, and the court system to extract the private property from sovereign individuals and force them to pay for other people’s comforts. Socialism removes the power and self-reliance of the people and places it in government’s hands so that they can manage it equally and fairly for all. Well, that sounds great but it does not work. The government is an extremely inefficient, wasteful, and violent creature, and only seeks to gain more and more power for itself until a violent revolution is staged. The US Constitution DID NOT ENVISION THIS. It fought against this kind of idea. Now we have a situation in America that is going to BANKRUPT our nation and destroy everything we have in a rather cataclysmic event. Some call it Peak Oil, some call it Islamofascism, some call it The Great Depression II. However, some of us would rather wean America off this false sense of entitlement the easy way now, instead of the hard way later. Some of us don’t want to fight and die in resource wars abroad because we failed to plan for tomorrow. Some of us want to keep our personal property that we struggled to earn and KEEP IT so that maybe we can take care of our communities and families.

There IS something wrong with a social security system. It has no money in it, has been spent for other things, and has a bunch of IOU’s in the vault. I am paying in now, but I have a funny feeling that I will not be getting back later. Additionally, since I have studied economics, I could do something MUCH smarter with my money than give it to the idiot government (I work for the gov’t & I know first hand) to squander and abuse.

The problem with Americans today is that they have no idea what liberty tastes like, so they have no idea what they should b fighting for. They’re so used to literally having NO possessions except for debt (try not paying your taxes and see how much you actually possess) that they don’t even know that they are enslaved. They think that they are free but they don’t realize that there is a difference between social freedom and economic freedom, one of which they don’t have. They think just because they’re given the opportunity to pick their school and their career and their house they own these things- but fail to realize that at the end of the day if they fail to bow their heads to Uncle Sam they will have none of the above.

How many houses have the IRS raided in error? How many people are in prison on my tax dime for having a baggie of weed? How many of my brothers are dead for bad intelligence in Iraq? How many of my compatriots minds are destroyed by K-12 years of trash and non-sense? How many Iraqi kids are dead on my tax dime?

The government is a collective moron and needs to be kept on a leash just like the Founding Fathers said. Their business is enforcing contracts, protecting the environment, and for military defense when under direct sustained attack- that’s it. I can and should take care of my own damn self in every other aspect.

Let’s see here….Obama was the one who started the whole change concept during this race and this makes him look like he’s no different than anybody else… It’s nitwitted Americans like this who lack an inability to discern through to mess to see the truth. Kinda like the idiots who gave Hillary their vote because she cried crocodile tears saying how much she wants to change this country for the better. When have any of you cried during a job interview?!? Sounds stupid doesn’t, well that’s what this political race is, a big ass interview with the American people as boss. People, use ALL of your brain cells before you make a decision. I don’t EVER want to see us go through what we just went through for the past 7 years. And if America ends up majorly voting for an idiot I’m leaving this place and will declare this country unfit for thinking.

  48. Tim

Before you talk about Ron Paul you should research the man. Just Google his name and you will find plenty on him. He is truly the smartest candidate by far. He is a doctor and a great economist. Please read some of his essays and it will blow your sox off. He writes his own speeches so that is huge in my book. He can talk and write. I would like to see Mr. Bush write his own speech. His speech writers have to put phonetic spelling by all the hard words to pronounce.

Google Ron Pau and if that doesn’t change your mind after watching a few different pieces on him then by all means vote for somebody else. Please don’t listen to what they say about him until you hear his message. Then disagree if you must.

  49. SickOfAzzHoles

Oh, one more thing….. For all you Ron Paul lovers who thinks he’s the savior for this nation…..Ron Paul receives support from the KKK and other similar organizations. But then again some of you assholes out there already know that and still support him. So for those who are not racist yet want to vote for Ron Paul please do your homework!

Kucinich is by far the greatest candidate running. It just astounds me that the American people are not supporting this great man! He’s the only candidate that voted against the Iraq war, and voted against the continued funding of the war. He’s the only candidate that voted against the Patriot Act, and the only one with the moral courage and foresight to introduce articles of impeachment for Cheney, before Bushco takes us into a war with Iran.

His not-for-profit healthcare system is Medicare for all Americans, the same as Congress receives. It will fund itself by eliminating the insurance industry. Over thirty one percent of every healthcare dollar spent, is tied to administrative costs, and outrageous profits for the insurance industry. Kucinich is the only candidate that doesn’t take corporate money to fund his election. He’s a man of integrity, courage, perseverance, and compassion. How immoral is it to keep the people responsible for our healthcare crisis in the equation? Clinton, Edwards, and Obama’s universal healthcare will just increase the profits for the insurance companies making a living off the sick and dying! They are the middlemen, and have no place in an evolved society that realizes healthcare is a basic human right, not something to be negotiated by insurance industries.

Kucinich is the greatest threat to corporate America, that’s why he’s been ridiculed, marginalized, and eliminated from debates. Why can’t the American people wake up and stop supporting MSM candidates, and vote for the one true candidate for the people, and the greatest defender of our Constitution?! What do they possibly have to gain by electing another corporate puppet?

It is a miracle they’ve given him some press lately, and even with a solid showing in Iowa Fox News still disallowed him to their next debate…

So, please keep the spamming up. I welcome it. It may not happen this election, but hopefully soon our leaders will cease to be chosen by individuals other than the voters and the people will once again run this nation.

Anonymity of the internet. See http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2004/03/19 Most people talk the talk, but barely get off their butts to do anything about it. (yes, it is your will to vote or not) Also Living in NH this past primary, I hardly saw any signs of his. Now if he earned record funding? Where is he spending it?

Side note to Digg people that Flamed NH for not making Obama #1 vs the Dragon lady/Queen B(itch) Tell him to start working on the Woman vote.. you know how many woman will vote for her JUST because she is a woman.. (Well I can only speak for 3 ladies I have heard say this don’t forget the lesbians) Finally, Her winning in NH was big.. but she only did it in 2% people… cripes don’t cry wolf yet.

**Off note, I did not for for the lady for whom I can only wonder how she made 100000 from 1k investments.. We do not need another Shift Souther Boy (yes boy) in the office.. (See Jimmy C/ Bill C)

A lot of you people out there sheepishly follow a candidate based on the great speeches they make or the tears that fall from their eyes. But you don’t do enough homework to check there track record and rely on narrow minded information sources as gospel. Barack’s track record is a good one…

    http://progressivepatriots.com/senate/senObamaIL.html

But like most Senator’s they may not be informed about each and every aspect out there or may receive ill advisories from biased experts, fortunately he and Edwards are stepping up to plate and batting hard on addressing as many issues as possible, Hillary on the other hand is busy crying for votes.

Oh yeah and on the subject of Hillary!!! She really hates that Iowa didn’t like her enough, amongst other things!!

It’s a shame that all of the candidates have co-opted part of Obama’s campaign pitch. He has plenty more than this throwaway catch-phrase to work from though. It should be fun to watch all the candidates try and steal everything Barack comes up with. I just hope the American people can recognize the genuine article when it comes down to Super-Tuesday. McCain makes the Republicans better. Clinton makes the Democrats and the Republicans worse. Easy choice.

    >>How come so many sites have Ron Paul supporters. Yet he >>barely gets any votes in the the past 3 primary states >>races?

excellent question.. but you wouldn’t like the answer.. and its now what Internets says.. because if you saw footage from NH, Ron Paul had the largest number of supporters out on the streets.

So the question is where are the votes? well where votes were hand counted, surprisingly Ron Paul received a much higher percentage of votes and followed the projections of previous polls, than where they were counted by Diebold machines.. which defied all projections and statistics..

not the answer many would like, even many Ron Paul supporters who probably need to be treated like this by the media and the corrupt voting process to come to their senses that the ‘change’ Dr. Paul wants to bring wouldn’t come through the ballot.. that part has already been taken care of by those in charge..

Vote for change? That means voting for someone who has not taken as their advisors people who would be in jail now if the Nuremburg trials were held, or simply, the murder laws were enforced.

Obama’s key advisor, as announced by Obama himself, is none other than the man who likes to be called “Zbig” – google Brzezinski, CIA, Mujahadeen – the Machiavellian “realist” who spawned Al Queda in order to lure the Soviet Union into their own Vietnam quagmire, in Afghanistan, and later boasted about it to the French press – a man who in his 1994 book, The Grand Chessboard, stated, “To hearken back to a more brutal imperial age…we must keep the vassals weak and divided.” Some change.

Obama is a slick PR face for the corporate elite, which is why the political right has nothing but fondness for him, as the Washington post observed: he is no threat to established power and privilege. “We can work with him,” said one. Hillary is different only in that she is a bit less polished.

I think that thinking people generally dismiss Hillary as a plastic hollow black box of very questionable integrity. Obama attracts more thoughtful people, and thus needs examination.

The neocon clones on the Republican side are of course laughable, or would be if they weren’t also very, very creepy. Only Paul and Kucinich stand out from this pack of Mandarin servants of established power. Please people, do look at them. There, is real hope for change.

And your cartoon – Well put! Awesome.

America is broke, Uncle Sam’s Credit Card shopping spree is reaching its limit, and the war bonds are gonna come due. If the government were a private business with people that were actually accountable for longer than 2-6 years, the scandal would make Enron look child’s play.

The American Education system has bred adults who cannot even do basic math like balancing a checkbook. Expecting them to notice that every dollar in circulation is someone else’s debt payment. Rolling the old debt into new debt is the only way to pay for of debt, compounding interest is working against.

The government is not a business that produces money, it takes it from the economy it. When foreign owners of American bonds have a fire sell, uncle sam’s credit card will fail to work.

Obama is a joke. He sounds like he’s being coached by Tony Robbins. Obama has become an emotionally-pleasing and patronizing motivational speaker who’s all fluff with no real substance. And the fools are gobbling it up and lining up to go broke with their “champion”. But hey – they’ll be happy, warm and fluffy when the United States goes bankrupt.

Obama is just a puppet for David Rockefeller and his Council on Foreign Relations. How much change can we expect from someone like that? We can probably expect another orchestrated stock market crash and another depression if Obama or any of the other CFR monkeys makes it in there.

The only real change will come with Ron Paul.

    CHANGE IS IMPOSSIBLE.

LOBBYIST INTERESTS OWN THE USA, 1000%.

FOR CHANGE TO HAPPEN , WOULD REQUIRE 535 REPLACEMENTS IN THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH, AND ABOUT 2000 REPLACEMENTS IN THE JUDICIAL BRANCH, ALONG WITH A LANDSLIDE SWEEP IN THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH…... WITH ALL 2550 OF THESE PEOPLE COMMITTED TO SOME OVERRIDING AND TOTALLY COHESIVE VISION.

SUCH COHESIVENESS MIGHT BE ACCOMPLISHED BY THE VULCAN MIND-MELD, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, IT DOES NOT EXIST.

BARRING THE SCENARIO I OUTLINE ABOVE, ALL YOU GET IN THE NATIONAL ELECTIONS, IS A STAGED REALITY SHOW, WITH THE WINNER GETTING A USELESS CELEBRITY RECORDING CONTRACT.
