    Hey Matt

I wanted to check in on your blog to see if you had done a cartoon on the beef recall. I like it! The whole situation is really interesting, and sad of course. I’m going to pass along your cartoon to my classmates.

    hope things are going well!

If the slaughter business would upgrade their technology to controlled atmospheric killing, a lot of the grief that goes with slaughter would be eliminated. In addition to improving conditions for these poor creatures, there would be less injury to slaughter house workers and a reduction in the resulting workman’s comp claims. An added benefit would be improved quality of meat – less bruising, broken bones and stress hormones. Why don’t slaughterhouses use controlled atmospheric killing?? Their costs would be reduced and their yield would be increased! It is baffling.
