Right now, it’s hard to comprehend that Eliot Spitzer rode into the Governor’s Mansion with a 70% voter mandate a little over a year ago. He was the savior who was going to bring change to Albany – But who knew what he planned to was to change into something…a little more comfortable?

“The Steamroller” was destined to waste the next two legislative years trying to make nice with his scorned political adversaries (and friends) in order to get anything done anyway…But no one could have imagined that he would end his term in this way, and in this time frame (I don’t see how he can possibly remain as Governor – But then again, at this stage, any attempt at political prognostication is strictly magic eight ball stuff…)

Wow Matt. you printed a cartoon bashing a left wing liberal
Dem. I'm proud of you buddy. If you keep that up no doubt
    you will win another pulitzer!!!

  2. Richard Tjoa

Well, at the least he didn't drunkenly crash his car into a telephone pole while driving his underage male intern to a tryst.

Is this really a big deal? I'd have a larger problem with Spitzer TAKING $4500 from, say, a lobbyist or other firm to "look the other way" on an issue. Okay, it's not a little issue, but as long as it's not MY $4500 he's spending… Though I'm very disappointed, I figure "It's a personal matter."

Why is the Democratic party so self-destructive?

(I keep thinking of your "Spitzer on a wrecking ball" cartoon. Did he need to somehow prove himself manly, despite his… impotence at getting his "change in Albany" agenda moving? Or maybe he knew that the next few years in the state will suck, and a good ol' fashioned sex scandal could let him bow out quickly.)

Quite honestly Richard i think prostitution should be legal
myself but it's not. The reason it's a big deal is because
we have the biggest law maker and once enforcer in the state
breaking laws. First it was rewarding criminal illegal aliens with drivers licences and now this. Not to mention the bum is married with kids and is supposed to be pushing
family values. This jerk is worthless. Throw him out like
    yesterday's garbage.

What a testimony for Spitzer! From the State House to the cathouse to the outhouse!

  5. Richard Tjoa

"Rewarding" illegal aliens was never the main issue. New York State could've had a program like Washington State's, where you could get a special "I'm a Citizen" version of a driver license that you could use to cross the border into Canada, but noooo, New Yorkers need to get passports.

  6. BULLDOG

Do you go to Canada alot Richard? I don't, but if I do i'll
just toss my passport in my car and head north. Not a big deal. Yes, "Reward" is the proper word. If you are here
illegally you should be punished not given something you don't deserve. I guess you don't believe in laws. Maybe
Spitzer should not resign and continue his criminal ways.
Maybe we all should!! Where would we be then?
