The violence perpetrated upon black males, is well-nigh 100% perpetrated by other black males. I feel no sympathy.

Yes, I was responding to precisely your comment. It is exceptionally unfair to negatively judge someone because of the actions of someone else in their community, who just happens to look like them - Just as it is wrong to target all police because of the actions of a few officers.

Should you be treated with suspicion and violence just because you look like someone else in your community who has acted badly?

Matt:

My comment says that they "also become targets; ... often [as] a result of their actions or actions of others in their community". Until the community makes it unacceptable for young black males to act in ways that draw suspicion, they will continue to be targets. Police, on the other hand, are targets because of their profession, not their actions.

You don't think young black males are profiled as suspects, regardless of their actions?

I can't say that I agree with your take on this one. Police Officers are employed to preserve the peace and enforce the law. They become targets by virtue of their profession. If you accept the premise that young black males also become targets; that is often a result of their actions or actions of others in their community. It is improper to equate the two.
