Where do you get off calling most Americans racist because they don't support Obama?
He is losing support because his lifelong mentor is a vile, wackjob, America-hating racist, because he numbers unrepentant domestic terrorists as his friends, because he is the most far-left member of the Senate, because he is a condescending elitist towards ordinary Americans. It is not because he is black. Most of these ordinary people you label as racist would vote for Condi Rice in a heartbeat.

This cartoon gets to the heart of the dilemma in America today: how can someone exceptional get elected president by a less-than-exceptional electorate? The media are a large part of the problem because they focus on meaningless issues like flag pins, middle names, the pledge of allegiance, someone's looks or their hair. But the public is so uninformed in general that it follows the pack like sheep, where non-issues become end-of-the-world important. Americans will fall for anything. And that's why a man who promises to give this country four more years of Bush policies is running even with the Democrats. He's doing a better job of marketing. The sheep are having the wool pulled over their eyes again.

What I have finally decided after the 2004 election is that Americans get the president they deserve. I wish all of you good luck with your mortgage payments and putting food on your table.

In this cartoon, I am merely papraphrasing the results of polling data in states such as Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana etc. It is informative that some people who feel "uncomfortable" about Obama's pastor's apparent racism, are themselves uncomfortable (openly or otherwise) with the idea of an African American President, be it Barack Obama, Condi Rice or Colin Powell. Sad.

Great carton, I wondered when someone would get to the heart of the matter. The Republicans are using the Pastor Wright issue as a guilt by association attack. Nobody wants to come out and say that Obama is unqualified because he's black, but it's somehow OK to say he's not qualified because he's been known to associate with blacks who some believe are too radical. Yet the argument doesn't seem to work both ways. McCain is somehow immune from association with the radical whites. Very dangerous these black pastors preaching radical ideas from the pulpit, but white old men who start wars based on lies, squander the nations treasure, enrich themselves and their friends using the treasure of our country, trashing the constitution in the process are somehow viewed as the standard by which to measure others running for office. It's racism. Very , very sad.

How dare you steal this idea from me before I had the chance to think of it? Excellent!
