It's been puzzling me why I DO want to go see the film (despite never having held that candle). I think it's something to do with the contrast between the incredible lack of ambition–I am sure that Bush just felt he could coast through his tenure–and the truly momentous historical events that he both unleashed and over which he presided. Lest we forget, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have still cost more than the total written off by the banks added to the total donated to the banks by all the governments put together. If we're complaining about government profligacy...imagine how much could have been refunded to the taxpayer if Bush hadn't opted for underwriting the military complex.
No doubt that the W. will be forever branded on the consciousness of the world by these events as stain that surpasses that of the name Nero on public service.
And for somebody who, essentially, just needed something to do when the party finished at 40. All those dollars, all those dead.
Which makes for a compelling vision, I'm sure you'll agree. I can only imagine that it is too early for Oliver Stone or any other of us to realise it (or realise it in film) just yet. Suffice to say it may serve as an appetiser of ashes.
Also, be kinder to Dreyfus...it's only fair that he gets a turn to play the shark.

Now that's what I'm talking about Lord B. To think, I even once considered applying to the Woods Hole Oceanographic institute to study marine biology because of that guy. Not much room for sophomoric humor in that field though.

Mr. Vaughan, what we are dealing with here is a perfect engine, er... an eating machine. It's really a miracle of evolution. All this machine does is swim and eat and make little sharks and that's all.
