Sarah Palin’s thoughtless desire to gleefully exploit the political, economic and cultural divides in our country has left me speechless. So I’ll just let my cartoon do the talking today…

They are ALL elitist’s Matt. Dems and Repubs. It makes me sick
how they all preach that they will do this and that for everyone yet each of these dopes will spend hundreds of
millions of dollars on stupid campaigns. Just think of what
money like that could do for people. Instead, i have to look at some goofy commercial tellig me what each candidate will
do when most likely they won’t anyway. What a waste, even
if the money is a contribution from some special interest
group.
Is that a picture of the homeless guy after his fourth or fifth time voting? And where’s his ACORN button?
Can you show proof that he voted four or five times? Or are you making an assumption based on appearance? Wouldn’t that be, um, elitist?
Bulldog is right on. I would have to be drunk to vote once. But then I could probably go again. It’s like they say when drinking beer in a bar…once the seal’s broken…
Bulldog,
Most of the money that campaigns have does not come from taxes, therefore they’re not spending your money unless you contributed. People choose to contribute to campaigns (e.g., buy stuff) just the same as they choose to buy Nacho-flavored Doritos instead of Pringles. Why is it relevant to bemoan what people are choosing to spend their money on instead of getting angry about not choosing to spend billions on war? If we hadn’t gone and spent $1T in Iraq, maybe there’d have been more educational grant money to go around and I could currently be in less student debt. Or the government could have bought everybody in the country a new Honda Civic and some Altoids. Point is, it seems to me to be a greater shame that we accept that the money we must give gets spent on crap we don’t need or want, but get angry when people choose to spend money on stuff they do want.
That wasn’t my point toaster. What i was saying is that all these politicians are full of crap. They preach how they are
going to help people and then spend 400 million on a stupid
campaign. You’re right most of this money comes from people
these dopes are now going to owe a favor to rather than helping most citizens. Who cares where the money came from
don’t you think it could be better spent by the politicians? It’s now their money to spend on what they want
and instead of helping people with it they blow it on a 30
second add. What would be nice is if our social service program was JUST donations and not tax money. I wonder
how many people would like to help others then?
