I will NEVER call Obama president. He will hence be referred to as "Mr. Obama".

You all spent 4 years claiming we stole the election in 2004, but yet you have NO problem with ACTUAL PROOF that ACORN STOLE the election in at least 15 STATES! With help from the Obama campaign to thwart campaign finance laws.

You liberals spent 4 YEARS maligning, complaining, despising, and some even threatening the president, and thought that was A-OK. And even now YOU STILL want to go after the president and vice president with endictments.

Well, now I CAN spend 4 years trashing YOUR president, calling for his IMPEACHMENT, and demanding his ENDICTMENT for what he did in this election.

I hope he is the BIGGEST FAILURE EVER as a president, and I hope this country suffers GREATLY for electing a MARXIST president so I can laugh my butt off at ALL liberals.

Well, the the two wars were started with huge bi-partisan support (I know, I know, Evil-chimp-brains Bush tricked the intellectually superior Democrats) I can't think of much other than supply side tax cuts.

Oh, there is one other thing that that he fought the Dems over- he and the republicans tried to quell the mortgage crisis long before it bubbled over and caused the world wide financial mess we are in. But the Dems, Frank, Dodd and to a lesser extent Obama, fought any regulation of Fannine and Freddie and their government backed sub-prime loan scheme. A government sparked failure that I think some people mistakenly refer to as a failure of the free market.

Whatever else you might point to as his insidious ideology (maybe his pro soon-to-be-born-babies) I think pales in comparison to the caricature of ideology you paint Bush as. And what might you cherry pick from Obama's record that would give you any reason to believe he will be a centrist? And since he's been elected? Rahm? Card check?

John Jay,
You have to admit - To cherry pick those initiatives is a breathtaking act of intellectual slalom when describing the Bush administration.

Was the Kennedy sponsored No Child Left Behind ideological? Was the medicare prescription drug expansion ideological? Was the bailout ideological? Was his immigration reform proposal ideological?

Is Rahm Emmanuel a non-partisan non-ideological figure? Is Card Check anything but a divisive ideological ploy?

If so, that says more about your ideology than Obama's lack thereof.

He is inheriting a huge pile of mess, which will be a challenge to say the least. I predict he will not overreach, and he will surprise moderate Republicans. He will also disappoint progressive Dems as during the campaign he was very specific about wanting to bring America together, which all along never meant adhering to a strict ideology. I believe the current era of a White House doing the unsavory bidding of a tiny percentage of ideologues is over. The temptation to rub the GOPs nose in its own ideological mess is something that a President Obama appears to have zero interest in.
Watch for Obama and McCain working together on a major bill early on.

Exactly, Bulldog. Will be interesting to see who he surrounds himself with. Hopefully a well-balanced group. Judging by the quality of his campaign and the way he's carried himself throughout the election process, I'd bet he'll be an exceptional President.
I experienced such a huge feeling of relief last night, realizing that I can now travel overseas without feeling the need to apologize to everyone for being American.

Suddenly,
overnight,
that which seemed so insanely out of place for so long
has returned to order.
America is back now.
It feels good to smile;
I thought I had forgotten how.
