Spineless politcians may well be, but realisticly, they do not have a choice when it comes to being rushed to a bunker - as supreme commander of the armed forces it is quite clearly imperative that the chain of command must be protected and as such all the top brass would INSIST on the commander-in-chief being put in the most defensible position when they believe there may be an imminent threat to his (perhaps one day her) life.

My god, did I just stick up for Bush?

Oh no, just protocol. *phew*

C'mon Bulldog, all stereotypes and prejudices are bad things, even if they may sometimes be based on experience (but often are not, politics generally excluded) - they cloud our judgement and lead us to making bad calls. Give the guy a chance and stop clutching your constitution closer (crossing over slightly with tomorrow's comments - ooh! Time warp...)

This cartoon does speak very loudly to the problem the "country" is facing. This financial crisis we are facing is a real doosy. In some ways I feel sorry for Obama, all eyes are going to be on him. He has very tough shoes to fill (presidential, not dubya's). There is a lot of people who have put a lot of faith in him and I hope they keep their expectations real. I hope that he surronds himself with very smart people from both sides and actually listens to them, unlike his predecessor. Mr. Davies, as I said in an earlier post, I did an analaysis paper on your fool me once cartoon. I was wondering if you would be interested in reading it and telling what you thought of my take on it.

attacked(and we will) obama will be in a bunker as quickly as
any of these other spineless politicians.

great cartoon!! I actually starting laughing when I first saw it..but I agree with GO OBAMA..it never looked like Dubya wanted to work as president..even during 9/11..he took a plane to a bunker, if I recall. Don't see Obama doing that.

It does stink that Obama is inheriting a mess, and it no doubt will take considerable time to dig out of it, but the simple fact that we elected him sent a message that resounded around the globe - one that sort of rids us of that crusty old know-it-all white dude image. Not that I think someone should be elected to send an image, but that's a pretty impressive and positive side effect.

At least he wants to work. He is putting things together and preparing for the challenge. I think at this point for Dubya as president elect, he had already taken two vacation days. A leader that wants to work. That is a perfect start at change!!
