Instead, they fought every regulation for auto improvement - better bumpers, better restaints, higher gas mileage, etc. - and passed on every opportunity to take the lead in progressive car design (hybrid, electric, alternative fuel), while giving themselves obscene salaries. This is why I see the Toyota Prius EVERYWHERE. And their owners LOVE them. If US automakers had manufactured quality cars that people wanted to buy, they wouldn’t be in the situation they’re in.

I just want to know why we are rewarding management that just isn't performing? Any other business and they'd be gone. Instead, we and our children and our children's children will be stuck paying for their bail out. I would like to apply for a bailout of my retirement account, please. Can someone point the way?
