I read your cartoon to imply that the “bombs” were Obama’s Team; comprised of rivals, which is how the phrase is usually used.
I’ll try harder to understand.
Obviously, I “misunderestimated” what was meant.

2. With all due respect, you have got to be kidding me. The bombs are competing for Obama’s attention (rivals). “Team of rivals” is a term that is now front and center in the political lexicon. As a cartoonist one can use it, twist it, distort it or otherwise play with it however one chooses. You might want to loosen up on the rigid and literalist interpretation of cartoons there, my friend.

2. I get the ticking bomb reference; but “Team of Rivals” seems to be incorrectly used. Team of Rivals is the name of Doris Kearns Goodwin’s book about Lincoln’s Cabinet which was comprised of former rivals for the Presidency. How are the bombs supposed to be Obama’s Team of Rivals? Obama’s “Team of Rivals” would be Hillary, Richardson, etc who sought the Democratic nomination for President. You’ve mixed metaphors.
