Snark Attack

I had this image lurking in my sketchbook from last week. There are days when I could have effortlessly come up with something better, but yesterday was not one of those days. And also, I don’t need much prodding to find an excuse to draw a shark.
On another note, I just read about Illinois Governor Blagojevich being arrested on some breathtaking corruption charges. If the Chicago Tribune had its own editorial cartoonist, she’d be having a field day right now and their readers would be lapping it up. But they haven’t had a cartoonist for over eight years. Oh well.

Aww, c’mon, Matt. Couldn’t your bosses let you sell one teensy-weensy cartoon to them? It would be a shame to let a good idea go to waste.
I agree with Mikein—the way things are going in the editorial cartooning business, it’s only a (short) matter of time before individuals (like you, Matt) end up working multiple “jobs” (“papers”?).

By the way, Matt…
Excellent ‘toon today!

This shark is AMAZING!!! Anyone would have thought you grew up obsessed with Jaws and sharks in general…
This is a great cartoon (and a great commentary).
Hey Matt,
Nice job on this; here’s another idea for you:
Here ya’ go: titled “Inauguration 2009,” this cartoon shows dozens of secret service surrounding Obama which takes up most of the panel; on the other side of the panel, while the service focuses on Obama we see a little old lady punching Bush in the stomach. As simple as that and cathartic for many in your audience, I’d imagine.
I’m a former writer for Letterman and SNL and a stand-up comic, but I can’t draw worth a lick. Please let me know if you want it (ronnygallop@yahoo.com); not seeking any money, just want to see it shared.
Keep up the great work!
Keep it up !! ” Cayman posse”
Hi Matt, first time (poster) long time (reader)...
I just had to chime in to say: “Those proportions are correct.” =)
Well done, as always!
