Dam.

February

It is a gross understatement to say Obama has bitten off a lot for us all to chew – maybe too much. But the loyal opposition looks weak, hypocritical and comical at this point. NOW they’re interested in reining in wasteful spending? Heck, even David Brooks described them as nihilists.

They didn’t spend on sandbags for New Orleans. Why spend it now?

  2. marinadog

Our children’s Grandchildren will pay all of the spending for.
Ant fro the republican’s to do nothing but yes “YESM BOSS WHAT EVER YOU WANT.” Is what got us to this point? Trying to out spend the Demorats and be Demorat light. This Pork Bill that was passed will do nothing but reward all the Groups of special interest of the Corrupt Chicago Mob that is in power. Lies are all we get from Pres Barry. NO Earmarks in the bill he keeps saying. And yet one of the top Demorats in the senate said “ The 9,000 figure of ear marks in the bill is incorrect we keep the number down to 3000-4000.”

And this is just the start. Now he wants unlimited health care paid by the Federal system including Illegal aliens. He is not worried about how to pay for the bills because the spending and giving Welfare (TAX CUTS TO PEOPLE WHO PAY NO TAX) will insure he gets reelected (HE HOPES).

Drawing all those sandbags must have been a real pain.

    Marinadog—
I agree. Heck, he’s been in office for almost 40 whole days, and has not managed to deliver on 100% of his campaign promises yet! What a terrible excuse for a president!!!

Do you work for Fox News? I’ve seldom encountered such vitriolic inanity outside the bubble-world of Fox N.

Yes, Dems are proposing we spend an inconceivable amount of $ – that’s the cost of rescuing us (& the USA). In case you haven’t noticed, this country’s unrecognizable as the former home of fiscal responsibilit, quality education, freedom from unnecessary war, respect for our natural resources, self-restraint, self-respect and self-reliance.

If President Obama’s fiscal policy works at all, at least our grandchildren will have a future worth living.

Isnt funny that the republicans had no problem when Baby bush took those billions to give to AIG and Paulson could give out the money to his cronies which wound up lining their pockets.

So Obama comes n and says here’s the money and here’s how you have to spend it. now the REpublicans cry foul! typical.

Once again, an utter lack of understanding of the economy and how we got to where we are by the cartoonist. Try reading something other than the New York Times or watching Keith Olbermann. If you had been reading the Wall Street Journal for the past five years, they have been sounding the warning bells for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for years. In case you don’t know, these are the government-created, free-market distorting entities that were created to buy subprime loans off of the balance sheets of banks. These loans were forced upon the banks by the do-gooders in the Clinton Justice Department, who were looking to enforce the utterly destructive, yet Orewllian named Communtiy Reinvestment Act passed by another genius liberal, Jimmy Carter.
This act FORCED banks to make loans to those who could not afford them in the name of affordable housing for minorities. In order to make it seem like they were not completely out to cripple banks, Fannie Mae and Freddie mac were created to remove these loans from the balance sheet of banks, lest they be forced to carry more regulatory capital. Then morons like Andrew Cuomo, who as the head of HUD in 2000, sought to increase the limits of subprime loans that Fannie and Freddie could purchase from banks, enabling the subprime lending to completely spiral out of hand. Now, these same people who refused to reform Fannie and Freddie (Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Chuck Schumer and Barack Obama) are now in charge of “fixing” the mess they created, while ignorant cartoonists such as yourself belittle the opposition with false insinuations and cheekly little remarks that reek of partisan sloganeering, not active problem resolution. You should be ashamed of yourself that a major newspaper allows you to publish your little half-truths.
