Unrefreshing

Shrill partisans have always gone after Nancy Pelosi as if she were the lost ark, despite the fact that the majority of their ideological adversaries have never seen her as their leader per se. I’ve pretty much shrugged off most Pelosi criticisms because they have always been relatively factless, and trivial. This time however, I think her willingness to make convenient political choices is so transparent as to damage her authority. The current round of Pelosi bashing actually does have merit.

The current round of Pelosi bashing actually does have merit. Matt you really want to put it that way.

Bashing is not what you call calling the second in line to the presidentcy who lies on a regular bases to make political points at the cost of America and US MILITARY lives. To Quenn Nancy Demorat Power is the only thing that matters.
The first Witness before the National truth inquiry over water boarding should be her and then she can be add to the Demorat list of their leaders who haved lied to congress and the US people.

  2. Lalas

LOL! And what of the republicans who have always referred to a “Permanent Republican Majority” before they’ve ever referred to “serving the public”? Newt, Trud-blossom etc.

And she should be the first?! Before the ones WHO ACTUALLY ORDERED THE TORTURING? You wingnuts are so clueless. And MD, by no means am I defending Pelosi, I’m not a fan of her either. But OMG your deluded-wingnuttery is just plain laughable. Please, give up any pretense that you have one iota of credibility. LOL, first indeed. LOL!

  3. Alfred

    MarinaDog,
you’re an idiot. And the cartoon plays into the republican strategy of diverting attention from the FACT that republicans supported torture, and lied about it. Pelosi is way too centrist for me, and if she did keep quiet on torture, then she needs to be held accountable. HOWEVER- there a HUGE LONG line of republicans in front of her. You conservatives conveniently ignore that, though.

I’m disappointed that Matt isn’t more clever with his commentary lately, and just plays into media hype like this. That’s pretty weak. But I guess it’s easier to pander to morons than to think.

  4. bashea

I agree with Alfred—MarinaDog is an idiot, AND a moron.

    Why?

    1. The Vice-President is second in line to the presidency, not the Speaker of the House.

    2. Knowing or not knowing about waterboarding is not what’s killing our troops. The unjustified, ill-conceived, poorly executed and maintained war in Iraq—which was perpetrated with lies by the Bush administration—is what’s costing American soldiers their lives…and arms, and legs, and eyes, and intestines, and sanity.

    3. It’s spelled “Queen” not “Qenne” (and this site even spell-checks for you!).

    4. The first witness(es) in an inquiry about waterboarding should be those who conceived and implemented the torture campaign.

    5. Republicans don’t lie to the American people? What cabin in Appalachia do you live in?

MarinaDog & BullDog: You proudly associate yourselves, through moniker analogy, with an animal that follows and obeys blindly, loves to lick their own genitals, and eats feces.

    How appropriate.

  5. AJ

    Marina Dog,

I like you. Let me first say that. You are NOT a wing nut, whatever that is.

To my left-wing friends in here, the problem with Pelosi is that she was one of the people coming down hard on the Bush administration for using water boarding and looking to prosecute Bush administration lawyers who merely rendered their legal opinions on the use of torture. Now she has been caught red-handed as being in on the strategy and lying about it to try and gain political points. Whether you agree with the use of waterboarding or not, when the head of the CIA (A partisan DEMOCRAT in Leon Panetta) calls you out on your lie, you have some ‘xplaining to do.

Wing Nut = Person who angers left-wingers with truth

  6. AJ

I figured it out, Marina Dog, so I amend my prior statement….if we define wing nut as I did above, then yes, you are a wing nut. Keep it up! We will change their hearts in this arena of ideas.

  7. AJ

ooh ooh , me next Bashea! What does my moniker say about me?

(rubbing hands together with glee) I can’t wait for your dressing down of me!

Is this the new tone your guy Obama has promised us? You are a worthy ambassador to that message.

  8. marinadog

    Bashea
I will write this real S L O W so even you can understand it.
Barry is the president right. If God forbit somthing happens to him, AND I MEAN THAT , for I do not want anything bad to happen to him , and VicePresident Bidden would become president so dose that not make him first in line for the Presidentcy?

makeing the Speaker of the house second.

and there is no spell check here.only on form.

lies that Pres BJ Clinton and the rest of the world also told right?

The Vice-President is second in line to the presidency, not the Speaker of the House.

GO back to your Kool-aid or coke like Barry

And now Barry has once again painted himself into a box. If the assult on the queen Fails he is up the creek.

and ALFERD if Queen Nancy is a centrist than Pres Bush was a true full blooded right winger
    right?

  9. bashea

    > ooh ooh , me next Bashea! What does my moniker say about me? <> GO back to your Kool-aid or coke like Barry < <

Wow, what a brilliant and poignant statement! Further proof of what a jackass you are.

As for my political label, I’m neither Democrat or Republican, right-wing or left-wing, conservative or liberal. I take my stance on issues according to what’s right.

I don’t think I, or anyone else, has the right to tell two people who love and care about each other what they can or cannot do, or how to live their lives.

I don’t think I, or anyone else, has the right to force a woman to live the way I think she should.

I think everyone should be able to get proper health care, no matter what their income bracket.

I think all workers should get a decent wage and benefits.

I think Congressional pay raises should be determined by a national vote of the citizens, which would be dependent on their performance.

I do NOT think that members of Congress should get full pension or health benefits for life, as they do now, no matter how long they serve. They can get it after working hard for 20 or 30 years, just like the rest of us.

I believe that church and state should be separated, just as our forefathers wisely declared.

I think that we should be able to bear arms, but that it should be properly and diligently regulated, just like we do for driver’s licenses, pilot’s licenses, car, boat, & plane ownership, building permits, passports, etc.

You got a problem with any of these?

  10. bashea

Well, once again my full posting has been hacked up and displayed in random chunks. I’ll try putting it up in segments:

    > ooh ooh , me next Bashea! What does my moniker say about me? < <

Being that I wasn’t talking to you, yet you felt entitled to stick your nose into someone else’s business and make a snide remark, I guess that makes you a genuine, full-blooded douchebag.

As for you, MarinaDog, Bulldog, and all the others like you, you are the main problem with America—worthless windbags who contribute nothing to our society except ignorance, bigotry, and racial, sexist, religion-based hatred.

The facts are that when Bill Clinton left office, we were at peace, everyone was prospering, and we had a record budget surplus.

Bush & Cheney took over and we got:

    – The worst terrorist attack in our history – Two wars, which have killed almost 5,000 American soldiers – Record oil & gas prices – Record oil company profits – Inflation – Recession – A floundering economy thanks to deregulation and non-regulation of the financial industries – Record home foreclosures – Jobs given to overseas workers so that Anerican companies could increase their profits – Record unemployment

Yet, for eight years not a peep of criticism from you and your big mouth, circle-jerk buddies as the Bush administration ruined our nation.

But now, as he’s barely into his term, you’re doing your best to ridicule and sabotage President Obama’s efforts to clean up the incredible mess your King George & Queen Dick left when they “cut & ran”.

  11. bashea

If you’re not part of the solution (and simply flapping your piehole doesn’t count), you’re part of the problem. So, why don’t you move to a country that is more in line with your philosophies, like Yemen or North Korea?

You even make an inference that you hope something happens to President Obama, which makes you a real steaming pile of shit.

As for possession of the presidency, I see Obama as first in line, the Vice-President second in line, and then the Speaker of the House. Purely semantics.

    >> GO back to your Kool-aid or coke like Barry < <

Wow, what a brilliant and poignant statement! Further proof of just what a jackass you are.

You got any problems with these?

  13. BULLDOG

Bashea = Idiot!!! Enough said. Where have you ever seen a
post of mine that exhibited ignorance, bigotry, racial and
sexist hatred. Where? just because i have a different opinion? The problem with this country isn’t people like
me it’s people like you who haven’t any tolerance for those of us who disagree with you. I work hard, pay my taxes and
keep my nose clean as far as the law goes. I get involved in
community affairs. This is bad? What’s bad is ALL politicians including your left wing hero’s who only care
about themselves and party loalty. Never about what’s good for the country or what the people want. They say anything to get elected and then do the opposite which recently has been displayed by that schmuck Obama regarding his reversal with Gitmo. I think he did the right thing by the way but that’s not what he said in his campaign to get elected.that pile of shit you were talking about in one of your last posts is your brains dripping out of your ears.

  14. Lalas

Civility is dead, invest in pitchforks and flaming torches!

Bulldog, you’re right on this part: “What’s bad is ALL politicians including your left wing hero’s who only care
about themselves and party loalty.” (the plural of hero (heroes) is not spelled with an apostrophe, nor is the plural of pretty much any word).

However, by this standard, you should call every republican bad as they are the party that notoriously votes rigidly in lockstep. Herding Dems on a vote is like herding drunken cats. They didn’t call DeLay “The Hammer” for nothing.

  15. BULLDOG

Sorry about the spelling Lalas i have to start proof reading but you get my point. However, i can’t agree with the statement that there has never been a good Repub.
There have been some good Repubs and some good Dems. There
also have been bad Repubs and bad Dems. For the most part
i just think politicians are out for themselves and very rarely do what’s right. I think we the people should start
voting on issues instead of dead beat representatives.

  16. Lalas

I agree not ALL Rs are bad, but the way you phrased it the first time was what led to me statement. The GOP does have little tolerance for voting outside the lines, I refer you to the pillorying of John McSame for that very fact.

  17. AJ

What’s wrong with record oil profits? Don’t you realize those oil companies are the ones who fund all of your beloved social programs through taxes from their “windfall” revenues? Windfall, heh-as though they won a lottery or something. Love how the left uses this type of language to belittle genuine American achievement.

Would you even know or understand how to get oil out of the ground and refine it so that it could heat homes, power cars, etc.? Why such hostility toward these people who are like you and me, just trying to make a living and really helping society in the process? Oh, that’s right, we shouldn’t drill for oil because that’s evil somehow. Hope you enjoy the random and intermittent power outages that will come with windmills (produced by another EEEEEVIIL BIG corporation, GE), not to mention the noise pollution and slaughter of birds that comes with it.

Wind power and alternative energies are unsustainable in the marketplace right now but we have government throwing subsidies at things like ethanol, which leads to higher food prices and increased global warming through the excessive land clearing required for the growing of corn to produce it.

Get past your anger and get engaged with the issues and understand these feel-good statist policies do more harm than good. Read the Wall Street Journal editorial page instead of the sixth-grade level, knee-jerk-if-it-sounds-nice-we’ll-endorse-it attitude of the NY Times editorial board. Half the time it feels like I’m reading a seventh grade Class President campaign speech with the utopian fantasies that come out of that paper.

  18. marinadog

As for possession of the presidency, I see Obama as first in line, the Vice-President second in line, and then the Speaker of the House. Purely semantics
Elisabeth is queen Prince Charles is first in line lol ok it is just words. And by the way your thinking Barry and Queen Nancy are good for America it shows what an AH YOU PEOPLE ARE.

  19. Lalas

LOL! Perfect point MD… civility is dead. You’re right we’re all @ssholes. My bad. I apologize for seeing things differently than you. Just mail me a list of things to believe and I’ll start right away. Oh wait… maybe I’ll just soak up the Holy Grail that is the WSJ editorial page.

Could you do me a favor though… could you at least acknowledge that Bush did a few things that were controversial/sketchy/unethical? At least be honest enough to admit that the “enhanced interrogation techniques” are legally suspect. You can equivocate all you want on how “we NEEDED to do it.” At least admit that the rampant politicization of the DoJ was unethical and bad for America. At least admit that their frothing at the mouth to invade Iraq again was transparent (I refer you to PNAC’s Rebuilding America’s Defenses) and short-sighted.

So many right-wingers won’t even come close to saying that W did some things that were dodgy (other than immigration).
