Help Wanted

This cartoon goes out to all my friends who under the normal rules would currently be fully engaged in careers. While the rain has been incessant here in the Northeast, it has been a dry, hot dustbowl for those who have mysteriously found themselves on the wrong end of the recession. When we talk about the economy, what we really are talking about is the well-being and comfort of humans. I don’t expect a return to the mindless, debt-infused consume-fest that has come to signify the first decade of the 21st Century. But wherever “normal” is, I hope we return there soon.

So appreciate the recognition!
It seems laughter is the only “healthy” way I have found to deal with this situation.

Well the issue is the govt bailed out these companies by giving them money so they can fire the americans hire the offshored for cheaper. sending US dollars forever outside the country.
The TARP money should have been giving to legal citizens and taz payers of teh US to payoff debt. This would have infused the capital into the banks etc.. and people wouldnt be ble to buy and tehn not get fired. But crp america ini its infinite wisdom thinks it can stimulate teh economy by firing workers and expect thsoe workers to buy things..
Lets bring real industry back to the US. remember when Made in Ameria/The USA meant something.. it should still mean something…
Steve,
its the same with welfare, if we gave the people the money and cut out the Washington BS we would be ahead of the game.
No welfare should be ended. if anything it should be workfare. also if you crank out more kids just to get more money you shuold be taken off the program and given a job.
