For a tiny minority of Obama loathers, simply disagreeing with him fair and square isn’t enough. No, these people have actually decided that he must be illegitimate, and have gone all grassy knoll on us. Even Ann Coulter and Bill O’ Reilly think they’re nuts.
I broke all my own cartooning rules on this one. Non-relevant metaphor, wordy labeling. But I chuckled the whole time I was drawing it. Sometimes that, plus ink and paper are recipe enough.
I also thought I’d show the rough sketch that I almost drew before going with the above image:

Was he born on U.S. soil or not Matt? He can’t seem to prove it as far as i know unless i’m missing something.
Coming up with a birth certificate is not hard to do.
Yes they have proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt this week. They got the official birth cert, and birth announcements in two seperate Hawaii newspapers from that time. I don’t know what more people want. Let’s move on and realize he is a citizen and either agree with his policy’s or not. Like it or not he is our president for the next four years. If we don’t like the work he does in these years lets make sure we get the powers that be to give us a viable team to vote into office. I am so tired of voting for the lesser of two evils…
Lesser of two evils. I’m with you on that one Goldstinker.
This is why we need an independent to run. There are plenty
of great people in this country who would make a good president but none of them want the job so we are constantly
stuck with the lesser of two evils. It’s a shame.
Bulldog. He was born in Hawaii. Here’s a good breakdown of the issue from Snopes.com. (one of my favorite non-partisan, web myth-busting sites)

Something I find curious is the comments section in the link I provided to Fox in my main post shows a remarkable level of racial hatred and ridicule behind the birther movement – rather than a yearning for facts.
Thanks Matt i read it.
Why “birthers”? Surely there’s a better name. I know it’s not yours Matt, but it’s not really clever. Considering the history of the left, and there innate ability to paint an issue with a word or phrase, “birthers” strikes me as uninspired. “Chicken hawks” was an effective phrase, since it really cut the opponent, whether it was fair or not. “Birthers” is pretty lame.
Matt, its Fox Nation, the people who read that are all racial hatred and ridicule. That is what Fox news channel thrives on. Birthers and their kind have no interest in facts. The only fact they know is their party lost, in big way. They are damm angry about it and will cook up any baloney to attempt disprove or discredit the President.
Funny thing is I remember when these same hypocrites called people unpatriotic and un-american when people disagreed with their guy.
You don’t need Fox Nation to know we have a racist president gmo418. Just watch the news. He caters to blacks
and hispanics while calling white cops profilers and
stupid. It doesn’t help either when you have an anti-American racist wife and a well known racist preacher.
His true colors have come out. What more do you need? I’m
not a Republivan either just an independent who makes
observations.
On top of that he appoints a racist hispanic to the supreme court. Come on now need i say more. There is an anti-white
male movement in this country. wake up. If you are a white
male you are not allowed to be prejudice but if you are a non white male you can be prejudice. It happens everday.
Lol your funny Bulldog. You don’t sound at all independent. You sound just like all them Fox, Rush, Hannity ditto heads. The other funny thing is this white male made up inferiority complex. Get over it. 43 of the 44 Presidents have been white guys, now that the 44th is not white, he must be racist. Most all of the Justices in Supreme court have been white men, select a Hispanic women she must be racist. Look in the mirror and think of yourself before you throw things like that around.
Leave it to the left wingers to be blind gmo418. Are you
saying sotomayer did not make a statement concerning old
white men? If a white man had said the same thing about a hispanic or black person he would not have gotten the appointment yet SHE did. How am i wrong? It seems to me that minorities can get away with these kinds of statements but a white male cannot. Have you been on vacation the last 5 years or so?
It’s funny how both the left and the right are so party blind that when “their guy” does something wrong neither side can see it or admit it.
Kinda liked the second one better. I guess ‘conspiracist’ was just too long to fit.
I guess it depends on your perspective. I can see how someone who’s probably had to deal with more to succeed in what they do might have made statements like that.
When people like Pat Buchanan say things like “White men were 100% of the people that wrote the Constitution, 100% of the people that signed the Declaration of Independence, 100% of the people who died at Gettysburg and Vicksburg, probably close to 100% of the people who died at Normandy. This has been a country built basically by white folks..” you can see that as i guess his perspective.
Point is the experience of someone who grew up in 60’s 70’s as a minority is different than one growing up now. Just as it would be a non minority. Just cause segregation and Jim Crow is not around anymore does not mean people did not experience it, and would have a different perspective than ones who did not. And that some still believe in it today.
Either way, this comic was about birthers and how crazy they are. Sorry this went off on different tangent.
No problem gmo418. i have to laugh though. look’s like Pat Buchanan is 100% right if that’s what he said. The only other thing is that i know plenty of old white guys who have worked as hard as Sotomayer to achieve success.
What can i say. The statement stands. If we did a reverse
on what she said a white man would have never got the appointment or would have to step down. Have a nice weekend my friend.
“”...that, plus ink and paper are recipe enough.””
it’s funny you use that term since the lack of ink and paper is the problem here.
“”I broke all my own cartooning rules on this one. Non-relevant metaphor, wordy labeling…””
you shouldn’t worry about it. it’s nothing compared to this cartoon i saw yesterday with this huge gaggle of reporters, 10 or 15 microphones sticking out everywhere, and the cartoonist labeled them “media.”
btw, i should say that other than the “media” label i thought yesterday’s cartoon was a good one.
mr.farkel – I admit, the media label is pretty silly. The fear of not communicating does raise it’s ugly head pretty often. One of these days I’ll get the hang of this cartooning thing.
