1. Shut down Indian Point Barry says Iran which has all the oil in the world can have a nuke plant but you hate America first people say not us.
2. No coal plants : Barry wants to put the coal industry out of business. Cap and tax is a plan that will cost every poor person 50 % more in energy and other fees. OH but he wasn’t going to tax people under $ 250,000.
3. Now no gas…..

And what about all the trees you Rag Kills with the Unsold newspapers are thrown out every day?

I was scanning realtor.com, and I came across houses for sale (in Pennsylvania) that advertised “Free Gas”.

Seems that years ago, gas prospecting companies bought exploitation leases, that included free gas for the land owner, in perpetuity.

The houses seemed OK, no ugly oil rigs in the yard, or anything like that. Just free gas, forever.

So why is the exploitation of a local natural resource portrayed as leaky, or dangerous?

To take the Robert F Kennedy jr viewpoint that everything but being on vacation is evil, one must first be given a $100 million dollar trust fund from which to live, seeing as everything except skiing, and white water rafting is a mortal sin against Kennedy’s planet.( Oh yeah…didn’t you know he now owns the planet?).

But, if ya gotta make a cartoon per day,
it gets hard I guess.

By the way, ...when will you be mocking the beetle-browed and eminently mockable A. Spano ?

artisan—The problem, as I understand it, is that they are not going to be “simply” drilling for gas. They think there is gas trapped in a bunch of (shale?) in a manner that they can’t simply put a pipe down there and have the gas flow out. Rather, they are planning on using a process called “fracking”, where they inject high pressure water (and chemicals? I’m not sure) to break up the rock and force the gas out from the cracks. Or, something like that.

This process has been used elsewhere, and the result is that some of the groundwater (and, people’s wells) have become polluted due to the nearby fracking operation.

So, it’s not simply exploitation of a natural resource; it’s potentially a serious environmental problem.

At least, that’s my understanding of the situation.
