Welcome Silence

I came up with this idea after reading the breathless and amusing comments from this blog’s loyal right-wing peanut gallery in response to my previous cartoon.

LOL! You could read those comments? Marinadog’s comments looked like he just sat there and smashed the keyboard in a fit of rage.
You are good, Matt!
Learning, too !
Simply view a photograph of Lincoln’s second inaugural. Every person in the photograph now dead. Every dignitary in the stands, every waif and stray dog in the crowd, and the great man himself, all perfectly equal….dead together.
A series of panoramic photos of Duluth Minnesota in 1905 shows the vibrant rollicking life of the town, workers hurrying down streets in pairs,or lounging in front of nickel flophouses. Every man jack of them dead.
That famous shot of sailors and young girls in Times Square on VJ day 1945 is now at the vintage condition of the other two photos, probably not one person in 1000 in that scene still alive.
The big hillside at Woodstock, with Hendrix onstage….a mammoth pile of doddering skeletons, alzheimer victims, not one in a hundred still healthy, full 60% dead already…. and we were there ourselves!
Fight as the great and the anointed might, moving mountains to advance mankind, in an eyeblink all tossed along with Pharao Ramses and his most abject slave… together, worthless dust, forgotten, nobody at all, no accomplishments, no rank, no wealth, no passions, no name, no memory.
Dust makes dust.
That’s why you live, love, work, steal, save, connive, plan, bear children.
To make dust.
Yes We Can
Yes we can….what?
We have all been on a kind of latter day children’s crusade.
And now it’s the dawn.
The morning after.

These rightwing crybabies couldn’t figure out why their precious Dubya (a puppet of everybody’s favorite “Sith Lord” Dick Cheney) would never passed muster with the Nobel Committee in Norway, in the eight years he blustered on about being the only answer to the world’s problems (never mind his arrogant ignorance and proclivity toward wars of expedience!). Was Obama’s Peace medal a tad premature? Maybe. But he also represents a distinct change, for the better, in the tone of and thinking behind our country’s foreign policy. That’s a significant improvement in itself. And, news flash: Unlike Junior Bush, Obama was actually ELECTED, too.
lalas I never type In a fit of rage…
This is after all a LEFT WING RAG>>>>
And Herb is much worst than Matt…
Matt now there on the ground is the real reason that the NOBELESS committee gave the award. Good one.
and Pierce Barry is a tool of the THUG MOB from chicago…
John B Pierce—You seem to have forgotten that GW Bush was elected by a 55%/45% margin…
...in the most egregious example of judicial activism in the past 100 years!

Would George Washington, or Andrew Jackson have “passed muster” as you say, with the ex-nazi Norwegians?
Europe considered Lincoln a crude bumpkin, & an embarrassment.
Why should any American “pass muster” with vapid Euro Fan Club Commissions?
History will log Mr. Soetaro as a mere interim president.
Sort of a mixed race Jimmy Carter.
jp: i think he was referring to the 2000 election, in which Gore had the edge in overall popular vote.

Pete: ...and I was also referring to the 2000 election, in which Bush won 5
to4 (in the Supreme Court).-jp
