   Tis easy to explain, Matt. ( and the headlines, also).

   Into a post-WWII society deeply rooted in competitive , peculiarly American history, fate injected Ted Kennedy, and his “open immigration” initiative of 1965. No time is more rich, more flush with promise, than the victory moment, just after a war is won. At such a moment the society remains cohesive, having pulled together in war, but the enemies are gone, and anything seems possible.

   Kennedy, untalented runt of the Kennedy litter, is the object lesson in too-much-influence, & too-little-wisdom, and remained so until his long-awaited death a month ago. But his destructive role was/is central.

   Rather than closing borders, and allowing the final chapters of Black emergence/White acceptance to fulfill the nation’s promise, Kennedy’s ill-conceived open door imported all of Egypt’s arcane & murky religious hatreds, all of Central America’s hopeless ignorance, cruelty, poverty, & criminality, all the Bosnian, Albanian, Macedonian & Turkish mutually-contending fascism, all the tribal promiscuity and disease of Africa, and graft them onto America’s wealth, where they could finally afford bullets, explosives, and air fares.

   With American cohesion finally shattered to smithereens by an “All Foreign Hatreds Are Mutually Righteous” acceptance of the medieval, even Neanderthal ethnic loyalties of these new invaders, a neo-religion arose, in which it was possible to live in America, and hate America at the same time.

   The out-of-office Democrats, taken over by irresponsible internationalists (like George Soros), grasped at any straw, especially the new self-hate religion, using “Blame Ourselves” , “Hate America” themes, as Political Correctness battle flags, never realizing (or cynically suppressing the knowledge) that in destroying the American memory of patriotism, they might win an election, but damn the country to irrelevance , dissolution, & death.

   As this process now bears toxic fruit, we observe minority-run banks such as Wamu disconnect their efforts from the local caucasian dominated towns & counties, and ascend into a heady international space of leveraged buyouts, arbitrage, and fictional derivatives, enriching the fast, the unethical, and the criminal, joining Nigerian phone scammers in cleaning out the coffers of an America they had hated all along, and which they considered too uppity, and too cruel in not previously enriching THEM in particular.

   There WAS a perverse justice to it, (had you been previously excluded), as the bumbling GW Bush garbled the words that might unite us, instead sounding like an inept good-old-boy bully, cocksure, paternalistic, and aggressive, in a time when fashion dictated humility, effeminacy, and submission. So he, and his party, are gone.

   Now, curiously,... having gotten what we imagined we wanted, we find ourselves being torn to shreds by internal & external enemies, no longer a nation, simply a polyglot Mike Vick dog-pit of shallow snarling curs, tattooed, bleached, pierced, blinged to the max,... our skinny and spineless elected chieftain somehow not up to any task, except talking smart.

   And oh yeah, the kids can’t add 2 plus 2.

   Many idiots are being “twitterized” into thinking “No IQ” is “OK”.

   What’s interesting here, is the notion that 2000 words is “long”.

   How long is the constitution?

   Faust?

   The Obamacare bill?

   Can anybody realistically sustain the narcissism of asserting they can grok news, politics, or America, in 20 Twitty words or less?

   Please, artisan. You are no Goethe, and you certainly are no Founding Father. You are, however, uninteresting. I can tolerate 2000 words in most cases, but that count is intolerable when the words are yours.

   So, Baltie-bore, you own up to a personal campaign to assault a particular commentor. Herr Ubermiester comment-Nazi seeking to stifle other people. So uncool.

   It’s weird that you moniker up as “Lord”, anyway.

   Just to educate (and annoy) you, let me find 2000 words of off-topic boilerplate. Hmmmmm…..

   On June 19, 1871 Seth Green embarked on a cross country railroad trip bearing 12,000 eastern shad hatchlings that had been born the night before.The hatchlings were kept in four 8-gallon milk cans, and 10,000 of them survived the seven day rail trip, to be dumped into the Sacramento river at 10 PM June 26 1871.

   By the 1980’s shad runs numbering 3 million were reported on the West coast, where shad now flourish from Mexico to Alaska, thanks to Mr Green’s action. One can only imagine the possibilities open to Alex Matthiessen and Riverkeeper, who have much more sophisticated travel and preservation technologies at their disposal, and millions of dollars in donated funds available , to make such a trip in reverse. But They do not.

   One can only ask why. Could it be that an unrescued, decimated Hudson shad population is of benefit to activists, as an advertising banner, eliciting emotional responses geared to misleading people into making contributions?

   What would it cost to develop, let’s say, 500,000 hatchlings? With each roe shad (fertile female) harboring up to 300,000 eggs in her roe sacs, the cull from a mere 6 or 8 females could easily provide the 500,000 eggs. The milt (sperm) from even a single buck shad could fertilize all of them, giving Joe 50 times the number of hatchlings Mr. Green carried in 1871.

   A quick charter flight east, and the 500,000 new shad could be released the next morning at New York harbor. Two or three such flights would restore almost the entire eastern shad run. But Joe is not going to do it. He wants shad on the brink, so he might misdirect people to giving him money to carry out quixotic, off target PR campaigns he cannot ever win.

   Bonny Wolf tells us just how to prepare shad roe, being careful not to break the delicate egg sacs, (each containing 100,000 roe eggs).Ms. Wolf goes on to advise dipping the sacs in batter, and frying them in lemon butter, and tells us how much she loves the dish. A picture of a prepared plate in this article shows us 6 shad roe sacs on a plate….....Delicious as it might be, this single gourmet meal destroys the same amount of shadfish, as Joe’s nonexistent rescue flight could transplant back to the Hudson. Let two privileged people order up such a meal, and their delectation will have destroyed more shad than ever ran in the largest Hudson shad run, all before ordering desert.

    Actually Richard, although you’ve recognized the obvious outcome, you don’t address the mechanism that made it a failed outcome. It might have succeeded. It still might succeed. What makes the difference? Richard Toynbee in his seminal book “A Study of History” discusses the concept of Cultural Mimesis.

    People internalize their identity as “An American” or “A Serb” or “An Eskimo” or “A Masai Cow Herder” in reference to some culture. The old process of gradually allowed in-migration, coupled with distinct advantages to seeking citizenship, tended to cause peoples’ mimesis to focus on becoming an American.

    Their bonding, their self-identification, and thus their internal agenda had a stake in making a good outcome for all, by way of their personal efforts. Their culture of choice, was American culture. They might have had a difficulty with the English language, or misunderstood why America ran itself exactly the way it did, but they tended to accept it, and try to change themselves to fit in. In general, their first generation kids were totally 1000% American.

    But…..

    When willing American bonding, or “Mimesis” became eroded by mass illegal immigrant criminality and its promoters, by internal African-American resentment, revenge & agitation, by the heavy baggage of the ages-old Islamic culture wars,and by the new-left’s contempt for ordinary Americans, a situation developed where America was not admired by its new arrivals.

    Nobody wanted mimesis with America. They wanted to come here. They wanted to send dollars home somewhere. But they had decided, deep inside, that they hated America, loved their old associations (whatever they might be), and just wanted to steal nickels out of “The Big Cash Register”. This is different from seeking American mimesis.

    What this forms, is an internal army of discontent, wishing to dismantle the place to get some of the dismantled goods as trophies. It causes Wamu bank to forget about promoting local prosperity & stability, and simply focus of leveraged takeovers, bonuses, and phonus balonus mortgage derivatives. The banks abandoned American society, and became international players ( and lost).

    It caused the Democratic party to listen to criminal voices like the foreign arbitrage criminal George Soros, and to seek a presidential candidate willing to both rule America, and hate America at the same time. Unfortunately, they found such a pliable dupe. Yes, dupe. Duped by his own self-love, his own speaking voice, and his own dislike of the country (as it existed) he willingly gave voice to all the self hate, the America-bashing, the negative mimesis of the new left, totally forgetting that prior immigrants had all taken on a love of America as their first task, thus making the country great, happy, and successful.

    As the picked puppet of American decline, he now presides willingly over a huge pack of foreign hyenas and vultures,...all drooling for a mouthful of dead America’s stinking entrails.It’s a spectacle of shame. It will leave the rest of the world with no place to come to.

    I really don’t think the left hates America; they just have a better realization that we are not the center of the universe and that we have to be good citizens within the global community. The “decline”-the diminishing of America’s image to its new arrivals, and to the global community-I think is rooted in the “cowboy image” of a hawkish America storming into conflict, guns blazing. We couldn’t afford it then, and we can no longer afford to continue.

    You bring up WaMu again, but greed and fraud is no stranger to Wall Street. (Madoff, WorldCom, Enron…)
