The editorial cartoons of Matt Davies

Grand Opening

The last thing I want to draw cartoons about is the personal behavior of a politician. I much prefer a good dust up over policy. But not three months into his term as White Plains Mayor, Adam Bradley was arrested on domestic abuse charges against his wife. As he has said, he deserves his day in court – But what he is charged with is so disgraceful that I can’t see him commanding the respect that high office and its duties demand until he is either exonerated or found guilty. As domestic abuser, State Senator Hiram Monserrate failed to understand: The office belongs to the constituents and occupying it is an extraordinary privilege, not a right.
