EXACTLY! Right on the money. Hey, while we’re talking about yanking the 14th Amendment, maybe we can take a look at that pesky 1st Amendment, too. Why are we giving “those people” any freedom of religion at all, right? Who’s with me?

  3. Iain

Why didn’t anyone protest against Baptist churches located in proximity to the Oklahoma Federal Building (the revenge for Waco?

  4. Lalas

Iain—everybody knows that the 2500 year-old dirt-farmer fairy tales are correct while the 1500 year-old dirt-farmer fairy tales are completely wrong. Please keep up. :P

Civil rights apparently apply only iffin’ you’re a good heterosexual caucasian (wealthy?) Christian male, especially to the Teabagger crowd. Yet they claim they love the Constitution. Must be some kind of “tough love,” huh?

People need to be reminded that the structure that was destroyed in Manhattan that Sept. 11, 2001 bright and crisp morning was named the WORLD TRADE CENTER. Innocent people of ALL faiths (yes, including Muslims) and races and colors and nationalities were hurt and killed in that big international business complex. And, hey, the property this group of moderate Muslims are looking to upgrade that’s about two blocks north of the former WTC site? THEY OWN THAT PROPERTY. What, so property rights don’t apply to them, as well?

Those protesting against the Muslim community center are NO BETTER than the al Qaeda. Save for the discharge of lethal weapons, they’re practically the same.

    2. Iain What was done by Mcvaey was not done ” for GOD”

911 was although if Mo and Chirst Come back there will be a lot of people answering for a bunch of chit “done in their Name”
    3. Manhattan Is a large Place … Lets put the new M osque
Jewish temple and Christan center at the Former home of the UN …..

  7. Steve C.

The best way to handle this is to not build anything at ground zero except a memorial and a park outlet.
This way NO SPECIAL interest gets better treatment than another.

  8. John B. Pierce

Folks, the Muslim community center that’s ALREADY there is TWO BLOCKS NORTH of the actual WTC site. And the building, which the group wishes to make into a BETTER structure, is on THEIR OWN PROPERTY. And, Boatcat, you stoooooooooopid whining hypocrite, the Muslim group who own this property HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11. Period. Nada. Zilch. Furthermore, they in NO WAY approved, supported, or condoned it.

Civil rights and property rights must be equal to EVERYONE in our pluralistic, open society country. If you don’t like the religion of the group seeking to build a better center there, TOUGH $#!+. If you love that preious Constitution so damn much, why don’t you try actually LIVING BY IT?

By the way… Just when have I uttered any gay slurs? This will come as news to me. (You likely don’t want to hear my most candid opinions of that hideous Prop. 8 that was finally, thankfully, declared UNCONSTITUTIONAL, do you?) I ‘spect you’re actually talking about yourself, B’Cat.

  9. Boatcat

teaBagging is a gay Slur as you have had it done to you many times you know this…

And the Bigot and hate Monger who is the head of the group thats wants to shove it to New York has made Anti-American and Anti Non His Sec of muslims….

And Where is this Dirt Bag getting the Money??? And Con Edison owns part of the Properity

  10. Tamisha Lyday

I propose that the house next door to Sarah Palin occupied by author Joe McGinnis be torn down so we can re-locate the mosque to Wasilla. It can’t be any worse than the all male ex-convicts who lived there for 4 years and she never complained about that.
